Ghost Garden SS Pedestal
The growth from each branch is supportive of the whole and extends beyond the boundary of function. We live our lives alongside nature while utilizing its peaceful offerings. Ghost Garden embodies our sense of hope for co-existence and healing around our landscape scapes.
With its minimalist design featuring two rounded surfaces, this piece adds a subtle sense of art and utility to any space, such as entranceways, room corners, or other desired locations.
This Ghost Garden SS Pedestal is made of stainless steel and brass, is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Stainless steel contains at least 10.5% chromium, which makes it resistant to rust and corrosion, unlike mild steel, which is more prone to rust. Generally, stainless steel is stronger and harder than mild steel, making it more challenging to bend without cracking if not done properly. Brazing stainless steel is also more difficult due to the higher temperatures required and the need to prevent oxide formation on the surface.
It was created for presentation at WantedDesign Manhattan ICFF in 2023.

Ghost Garden Three-Tiered Table
This first Ghost Garden piece is created as a collaboration work with a studio partner at the time Evan Fay in 2020. After the completion this piece was presented at a group exhibition Never Normal at Wasserman Projects Gallery in Detroit in 2020.

Roommate Stand Lamp
I imagined interior objects as personalities in a home. The Roommate lamp functions like a houseplant, brightening up our daily lives.
Porifera Chair
This is another collaboration piece created with my studio partner at the time, Evan Fay. We transformed natural sea sponge into textured seat padding.
Ghost Garden Two-Tiered Table
Unlike the first Ghost Garden piece, this two-tiered table features more brazed branches on top, expressing wild growth as if the tree appreciates the freedom of growing up towards the sky.
Hideaway Chair brown velvet
This Hideaway Chair, upholstered in brown velvet, showcases a rich interplay of highlights, shadows, and wrinkles on the back cushion.
Roommate Desktop Lamp
After completing the Roommate Stand Lamp, I expanded the design to include a desktop lamp featuring a small candelabra globe bulb and thinner steel rods for the loops.
Click-Clock
Click Clock is a timepiece with softly sculpted lines that hint at the time of the day. Shadows of the surface change with the path of sunlight reflecting upon the silent moment in the clamor of life.
Ghost Garden Wall Decor
This wall decor, crafted using the techniques and processes of the Ghost Garden series, was made as a Christmas gift for a friend. Influenced from Harry Bertoia's jewelry work, the petal-shaped elements on this wall decor are made of folded steel and connected through nut and screws.
Hideaway Chair white bouclé
The ivory bouclé fabric on this Hideaway Chair was used to add a soft plush and nubby texture, offering soft and tactile feel.
Roommate Pendant Lamp
This pendant lamp, another addition to the Roommate Lamp series, is currently hanging from the ceiling in Ayako's studio. It features a small candelabra globe bulb and thinner steel rods for the loops.
